1 . W ide speed range
Because the frameless part of the linear motor is a non-contact part , there is no mechanical transmission limit , so it
is easy to achieve very high and very low speed . T he speed is not limited by the motor, but will be limited by other
components in the system , such as linear bearings and the bandwidth that can be achieved from any feedback
device . A pplication speeds of more than 5 m / s can usually be achieved . I n contrast , due to resonance and wear,
mechanical drives such as ball screws usually limit the linear speed to 0 .5 ~ 0 .7 m / s . I n addition to a wide speed
range , sum-dm series linear motors have very good constant speed characteristics . T he speed fluctuation is
usually less than ± 0 .01% .
2 . H igh system dynamic performance
I n addition to high-speed capability, sum-dm linear motor also has extremely high acceleration . It is limited only by
the system bearings . Large motors can usually reach an acceleration of 3 ~ 5g , while small motors can easily
reach an acceleration of more than 10g .
3 . Stable operation and high positioning accuracy
D ue to the unique motor design of sum-dm series products , this series of linear motors have very stable motion
curves . T his direct drive linear motor has very low thrust and speed fluctuation suitable for smooth motion . T he
positioning accuracy is limited only by the feedback resolution , which can usually reach the resolution below
micron .
4 . U nlimited travel
T he magnetic circuit of sum-dm is composed of five modular parts with lengths of 120 , 180 , 240 , 300 and 600 (mm)
respectively. A ny number of other modules can be added to any module to realize unlimited travel . T his series of
products can meet the requirements no matter whether the required travel is 1 mm or 100m .
5 . No wear or maintenance free
T here are few linear motor parts , and there is no need for ball screw parts such as nut , bearing seat , coupling and
motor base , and there is no need to maintain these parts . Ve ry long service life , clean operation , no lubrication or
maintenance of such parts .
6 . S ignificantly reduce the difficulty of component integration
F rameless linear motors require fewer components than rotating motors with mechanical drive . For frameless
linear motor components , only 0 .8 mm (0 .031 inch) air gap and 0 .5 mm (0 .020 inch) air gap need to be adjusted .
T here is no need to make key adjustments like ball screw. T he linear bearing of the system ensures full stroke
straightness ,fully meet the requirements of motor.
